Module 1: Intro

I am going to teach you how to create stained glass, from the very beginning.

Module 2: Get Ready to Create

Each relevant module contains Saftey&Setup and Essential Tool infos.

Module 3: Choose Your Pattern

While stained glass is a very creative artform but you have to know in advance how the whole ’glass puzzle’ will look like and fit together. By the end of the module, you’ll able to select the right size to your level and understand which four factors affect difficulty.

Module 4: All About Glass

Learn all about glass and where to buy it - so that you’ll feel well acquainted before we jump into stained glass. We will go though 5 glass characteristics which are: manufacturing, color, opacity, texture and finish. I bring you lots of examples to help to choose the glass for your first project and later ones. You will also get familiar with glass handling and storage.

Module 5: Transfer You Pattern

Transferring your pattern to glass is a simple step in the whole process, and I’m going to show two options to choose from. All the tricks and tips before you begin to cut glass.

Module 6: The Perfect Cut

The more accurate the cut is, the easier to handle each glass piece later on. By the end of the module, you’ll able cut straight lines, curves, shapes and concave lines too. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to get into the flow of cutting.

Module 7: It’s Grinding Time

We would like to perfect each piece of glass to be as exact as possible to the original pattern. If the piece isn’t precise, it won’t fit. You learn to take off any excess glass and irregular bumps to create the perfect fit with ease.

Module 8: The Foiling Fun

The copper foil or Tiffany method uses copper foil, which comes in different sizes, colors and forms. It’s a great way to add your unique touch for your design, while creating the smoothest base for soldering.

Module 9: Smooth Soldering

You’ll learn all the best tricks for smooth solder seams! I go deep dive of explaining and demonstrating the soldering technique, so you will have no problem mastering this step.

Module 10: Clean&Patina&Polish

This module is all about the finishing touches and making your piece nice and shiny. Get ready to display it.

Hey, I’m Lydia

Aside from quiz nights and charcuterie boards (yumm) I’m really passionate about three things:

  • teaching & making stained glass.
  • how having a creative hobby can positively impact one’s life.

I’m a corporate dropout who realized she needs to follow her calling (AKA it wasn’t just a ’phase’). I got familiar with stained glass (copper foil method) in high school but I only started to create and sell pieces in 2016 via Etsy. Naturally I went through a few style changes but one thing sticked: I didn’t stop nagging my friends and family about the artistry and try to seduce them to join me at the studio. Soon I realized as much as I enjoy the craft itself I also want to share the joy of stained glass with as many people as possible.
